Three day weekend

Friday starts a three day weekend for us. John has Monday off and we plan on leaving for Ohio on Friday afternoon. We usually take Korana's car but this time my hubby said we will take ours. I know her car is a little better on gas, but it's okay I just want to visit my family. I 've had to postpone this trip twice because of weather, either here or on the way to Ohio. The other plus in going now is I won't have to drive alone. I'm not too keen on driving on trips alone. Who am I kidding, I don't like to drive much period.

Christmas seemed a little different this year but we still had a good time. Being with family is the important thing. If we didn't have kids involved I'd say forget the gifts.

I have a new laptop for when I'm on the go and also for vacations and stuff. I am still getting to know it. John got me a cordless mouse for Christmas. I was having trouble getting use to the thing they call a mouse on laptops. And if you are wondering, New Beginnings is still in process. I am waiting for editing on a couple of chapters now. Sometimes I wonder why it takes so long to put ideas on paper. I guess the answer is that after you get them there they need to be revised and this is the most time consuming part of the writing.

I am heading a new outreach through our church, Family Worship Center in Geneseo. It is for anybody who needs help or who wants to help people. This is how it works; If you have something you would like to bless others with, you just call me and tell me what it is, and if you need something you call me and tell me what you need. I keep the items on a list with your first name and phone number, then when I get a match I call one of you and then you call the other person and make your own arrangements to get the item. Our first call was such a blessing. A lady called me because she wanted to give away a chair and during our conversation I told her someone had a need for a frig. and another had a need for an electric stove. Well, in the end this lady donated a frig. and so now we can bless the family who needed it. Isn't God good? So in closing I will add my phone number for anyone who is in need or just interested in giving something that they don't need. Please only offer items that work and are in good shape.
Just contact Sue @ 585-582-2702.

Until next time,
God Bless Y'all (smile Shawn)

Good Morning

Good morning everyone, I hope you are enjoying this fine winter climate we live in. Yesterday we went shopping in Geneseo and John was freezing but for some odd reason, I wasn't. I told him that I felt a chill in the air and knew it was cold but it didn't bother me that much. He looked at me like I was crazy and I understand because I am usually the one shivering and complaining. I love to watch the large fluffy flakes as they come floating down through the air. Our yard turns into a winter wonderland. Now, I would be happy if the stuff just didn't drop on our roads. Yes, I do live in a fairytale world. Why not?

Happy Birthday, Mary. I won't mention how old our oldest daughter is today but at 10:10 this morning she was officially one more year older.

John's mystery calls have stopped and I miss them. But at the same time I understand. Our secret caller probably just got tired of no response. Looking back I wish I had answered when I was home, but some of the time we were both out. I was under the impression that he would keep calling until Thanksgiving but the last call came in Nov. 19 th at 11:26 am.

Nice, my appointment for this afternoon just got changed until Wednesday afternoon so I have a lot of things I can do instead Like going to the bank and post office, getting the mail and visiting our Birthday girl, then taking a trip into Henrietta. Oh, and planning a supper for my sweetheart. You can't forget to feed the guys who bring home the money for the bills including the food money.

Still can't get pictures on here. I know my kids are busy with their own lives so I try not to bug them anymore, but it's so frustrating to have this scanner and can not get them to where I want them to be.

Well friends and family, it's almost Christmas and I hope, time for us all to think about the real reason for our celebration. I've heard people argue that December 25 th was not the date Jesus was born. They say probably September. So what guys, the important thing is that God did send him to earth especially to die for us. I used to say, "If you were the only person left on this earth, Jesus would still have willingly died for you." Then I started to think about this. Did I truly believe this for myself? Did I believe Jesus would have willingly died just for me. It took prayer, Bible reading and searching my own inner being before I could make the statement, "Yes, Jesus would have died just for little ole me." THANK YOU JESUS!

Until next time, allow the God who created everything that is, to bless you abundantly.

Friday again

Today is Friday and since yesterday was pay day I think we might go out for a fish fry. I don't have to try to figure out what to cook. I really loved to cook for about the first 30 years. Then I just decided that it wasn't a lot of fun anymore. So having the best husband in the world, he told me to only cook when I felt like it. There were a few years that we took our budget money for food and went out to eat every evening. Now we are back to being more realistic and having good home cooked food is important again. This is not new, I'm talking about 10 years of cooking after a few of not. That's why on payday or near it we try to go out for a fish fry. Did you need to know this, I guess not.
New Beginnings is coming along and I know I usually say this, but it's true and it takes hours and hours of just re-doing scenes that I once thought were good. Now I have learned to read them out loud because you wouldn't believe how they sound opposed to just silent reading. I do know how this story is going to end, but it's the getting there and making it a really good book to read that hold the challenge.

Thank you to Wayne and Korana who courageously opened up their home again this year for out Kelly Family Thanksgiving Dinner. I also want to thank Todd and Gail in advance to hosting Christmas again this year. We are a big family and are only able to get together for two or three gatherings each year. This year I found joy in just watching every one of my kids (except Virginia and her two kids who lives in Nashville). Seeing them enjoying the day was so much fun. I can't begin to describe the feeling.

I know a lot of you swear by Black Friday and the sales. I'm not a morning person so I don't go, or at least didn't but this year we went and I hoped to get a laptop. Let's just say I wasn't able to get the deal and I spent almost a full day recovering from the stupid trip. So, if if works for you, great, but I'm too old to start something like this.

I hope y'all like the new look. Feel free to make comments about it.

Until next time,
Y'all allow God to Bless you.

Hang on please

Getting ready to update y'all but hubby just pulled in and don't know how long I have because we are heading out to a early Thanksgiving dinner with friends.

I woke this morning after a real lively dream. Wow, really I thought, I could use this for a story,so on came the computer,(and without coffee) I just started typing. I was so excited that 1,200 words later I was amazed what a spin that short story took. Now to decide if after editing it, I might want to send it off to a magazine or for a contest. Anyway the high was worth the loss of morning coffee. Did I just say that? Yup, I did. I dream a lot, so why was I surprised when the first thing I could think of was getting it on my computer? I guess because this dream played out like a story begging to be told.

Door opens, hear lunch box being unloaded, now waiting in my little office but no one appears and no one speaks. Maybe it's the creature from the black lagoon. Still silence, oh wait he appears and smiles and says hi. All fear gone, I return the hi with a smile of my own.
No, this paragraph has nothing to do with the story I was writing this morning. Only certain people will understand the reference of the black lagoon.

Gotta go or we'll be late.
God Bless y'all my dear readers and family.

Crisp,fresh air

Good afternoon everyone. I have just come in from outside and the air is crisp and fresh. I am really enjoying this. Today the sun is out and it's a far cry from what we had all summer. I personally like very warm weather. But this last summer felt like the temperatures we had in Las Vegas and they were unbearable. So, I am developing a new outlook on the temps. If the sun is out and I'm smart enough to dress warmly, I am planning on totally enjoying the fall weather. Now don't tell my honey I said this, but I am even looking forward to our first snowfall. I mean the one that comes down with large fluffy flakes and is so beautiful it looks like a postcard picture. Of course I would like a mild winter also. I know get real, this is New York for crying out loud. Upstate New York. Okay, I get it but still a girl can dream can't she?

The other day I cancelled my lesson about pictures and how to put them on here because I had worked a long shift and was so tired that rest or more importantly more sleep was more important at the time. Everyone tells me putting pictures on here and face book from my computer is easy and Browse is the important thing to look for but I can't find a Browse place except when I actually scan the picture. I'm also looking into changing the format and colors of the blog. What do you guys think? Any suggestions? I'd love to hear them. I plan on checking out some other blogs for ideas.

Sarah, thank you for your encouraging word about the sequel. New Beginnings is coming along and I hope to spend more time on it in the coming weeks.

Christmas shopping is almost done and I won't have that interference. This will be the first year that I am going to try to enjoy the weeks just before Christmas. Usually I'm backed up with stress about shopping. I plan to use this time wisely and focus on Jesus and what he means to me.

Sorry, I need to run an errand before John gets home so need to sign off.

Until next time,
God Bless y"all

Surprised

Good evening, I finally am in again. I really don't know what happened so if it goofs up again, I am not sure how to fix it. Guess I'll just pray.

I am still playing around with pictures and can't get them moved. I do have a appointment with a specialist on Thurs. am to see if she can help me fix this issue. Well I think anyone who can successfully put pictures wherever they want to should defiantly be called a specialist.

We are having a problem trying to figure out who to vote for this election. I guess we go through this every time, but this year seems to be especially hard. We use to get a mailing and it told who was up for election or re-election and what they claimed that they stood for and also their voting record in the past but I don't remember who sent us this. Hopefully the newspaper will do something similar.

I am so wrapped up in New Beginnings that I can hardly tell you anything. New ideas are popping into my head and occasionally I have to figure out which way to go.

This week is a busy one with two days of work put in also. A couple of appointments and a living room that I have torn apart and don't know when I can get it totally put back together is just looming before me. We just gave away a huge cabinet today and now I will have more room, but I have so many things to go through and some to get rid of. We have a place we can give donations to and it's called The Abiding Place. It's in Honeoye and is only open Monday and Wednesday from four till seven. Tomorrow I'm booked with other things. Wednesday is one of my work days. I need more energy for each day, I guess.

We had a great trip to Tennessee in September but I think I may have already told you about it.
We are planning a vacation for early spring, possibly to Florida. I need to get a laptop before then so I can make it a working vacation for me. I am excited about New Beginnings and I want to submit this one to a certain publisher. If this is in God's plan it will get excepted.

I hope to have a picture or two on this by Thursday or Friday.

Until then my friends and family,
God Bless y'all

Where is everybody?

Hi there,

I am wondering where everyone is. I figure Wayne is traveling now as it's about eight p.m. on Sunday night. I have not been on the computer since we returned from Tennessee. I'm really out of touch with almost everyone. Shawn if you read this soon call me, I can't put the pictures I have scanned on here or face book. Don't know why. I guess I need help from anyone who has that knowledge. Okay, I am showing and admitting how ignorant of the computer I really am but that is the truth. I have a pretty picture that I took a couple of years ago in the living room and I want to put in on here.

I plan on picking up the pictures of our vacation on Tuesday. I am working some this week and hope to get everything done that I can or am suppose to.

Korana, I love the blog about the fifteen minute rule or was it the five minute rule? I guess I need to go back and read it again. I wish I had felt like calling and talking to Wayne this weekend but it didn't happen. How many more weeks does he have to travel? Give me a call if you ever have a chance. I know you are swamped with volleyball and kids and house and stuff like life.

I have a new goal. I'm going to get together with some friends and we're going to make soap from scratch. I'll let ya'll know how that works out. It probably won't be for another week or so before we get the recipes and supplies together.

Well I just wanted to say hi to all.

God Bless y'all.

Sunny and Hot

Good morning everyone,

We had a wonderful vacation and John is back to work this morning. I hope he has a great day. It might be a little hard getting back into the routine after two weeks off, but I know him and he will be happy as a pig in a mud muddle to have his schedule back. He truly loves his job.

A couple of years ago we went to visit Gin in September and the weather was in the low to mid 80's with a lot of sun and we walked a lot and had a great time.

The difference this trip was not only that she lives in a different place but the weather was hot, oh, so hot. Here at home we were getting some rain and the temperature was only in the 60's I understand. In Murfreesboro, Nashville and surrounding areas it was anywhere between 95 and 100. As we were driving our rental into the parking area at the airport to fly home the temperature thingy read 100. It was suppose to cool down in the evenings but I'm not sure it went down to the 60's like the weatherman said. We did get rain for about 5 minutes one morning and again for about 5 minutes that same afternoon. The rest of the time it was pretty clear and sunny. Am I complaining? Well just a little bit. It reminded me of the awful heat we experienced living in LasVegas a few years ago. They talk about dry heat versus humid heat. Well, we found out heat is heat when it gets that hot. You're either drenched in sweat or feel like you just opened your oven door and the heat poured out at you but it doesn't stop like when you back away from the oven. But excluding the weather which is hardly ever perfect for me (and I admit it) we had a wonderful vacation.

Went shopping, took the kids for ice cream one evening, went to homecoming days at the high school where Bryan escorted a beautiful girl and she won the Queen of the homecoming. You should have seen him in a tux. Then over the weekend we took the kids shopping and to a movie of their choice. It was "Alpha and Omega" and was about wolves. All in all we had a real good time and I hope to get some pictures on this from the homecoming as soon as I get them developed. Yes, I used an old fashioned camera, the kind that isn't instant like most things we have now days.

I just looked at the clock and I have a appointment soon Ive got to run. Love to all.

Until next time,
God Bless y'all.

I'm back

Hi everyone,

Yes, I'm finally back. Before I forget it, I needed to add kelly on the address for Korana's blog. Sorry about that. So it is waynekoranadenverandwillakelly@blogspot.com. I am sorry for the confusion for anyone who tried to see this and couldn't get to it.

Okay, I am ready to put some pictures on my computer. I have everything hooked up except the fax. Now, how do I do this? Don't have a clue. But I intend to fiddle with this until I figure it out.

I just finished getting my quarterly sales tax ready for the proper authorities. Now I can get back to New Beginnings. I am getting more excited about the story line every day that I am able to work on it.

Korana is busy coaching volleyball like she has for years and that keeps her very busy. That also means Wayne is busy with three little girls.

Shawn and Lesley had a break over the weekend because Shawn Jr. and Ben spent it visiting Aunt Mary and Uncle Rob. Ellianna enjoyed being an only child but frequently wanted to know where "her boys" were. I understand they had a great time.

We are looking forward to flying to Nashville next week. We are leaving on Monday and returning the following Tuesday evening. I can't wait to see my family out there. Bryan is doing well after jaw surgery last month and I haven't seen Sam's haircut yet. I hear it's very nice. Looking forward to spending time with Gin. We also hope to spend some time with Ron. I understand he is coaching hockey and so may be very busy but we will probably be able to see him a little bit.

School will start here in a day or so and I'm so glad I am done with getting kids off to school. I know our two great granddaughters in Florida starting weeks ago. It was very nice to see them here a few weeks back. I really miss them. We had a lot of fun. Even getting caught in a thunderstorm in Stony Brook Park couldn't damper the pleasure of our being together.

The Saturday after we get back from Tennessee we are attending out nephew's wedding. I guess our next two or three weeks will be busy.

I'm going to scan some pictures so let me close for now.

Until next time.
May God Bless you richly.

Denver & Willa

Hi,
It's been a few days but I have returned. I've been busy writing New Beginnings and after the long break I had to take in July I'm ready to move on quickly, I hope. Wait till you meet Will, he is a very interesting guy. He isn't what I had planned because as usual each character takes on a personality of it's own.

I encourage you to check out Korana Kelly's blog called GlitterBug. It's great. I just read it and my girls Denver and Willa have been horseback riding. The pictures are precious. Sound like a proud Nana? Yes, I am. I've always loved horses so these pictures are the best. You can find it at http://waynekoranadenverandwilla.blogspot.com

If you enjoy nothing I write today but view this blog of Korana's I will be happy. I have put off getting a MRI done of my neck for personal reasons and my neurologist said "okay", just to let him know when I could do it. After almost two months I have had only minimal discomfort in arm but now that I am using it again (a lot) pain is coming back with a vengeance, so I guess I'll need to make that appointment.

No pictures yet cause I still need scanner etc. hooked up. I am looking forward to having this very soon. Hate to go but I need to work on novel before hand says stop or else.

Until next time.
God Bless Y'all

Gift

Well hi everyone. Tuesday night was a special night for me. It was girls night out and this time we celebrated my birthday. Yes, it was late but we had four different schedules to work around. But it was worth the wait. We went to Outback in Henrietta to eat then went back to my sister-in-law's house and I received a hp printer, copier, fax and scanner. Now, I'm really excited because I have wanted a scanner for soo long so I could put pictures on my computer for all to see. I hope Shawn will come out and get it all hooked up real soon. I'm sure he will. I know he is busy with his family and I hate to ask but sometimes I just have to.

Sorry, I have not been on here but I still have not bought the cable I need. Sometimes I can get on and other days the computer just refuses to let me on. Now I need to get on i universe site and check on sales for WHAT'S DONE IS DONE. Don't forget you can order it online at Barnes and Noble and other book stores. Also at Amazon.com.

I want to say thank you to the lady who e-mailed me to say that she liked the blog and how it was set up. It's encouraging to hear this and I wish I could be on this more. My Day Will Come. Anybody old enough to remember that that was a title to a song?

Kathy, I just tried to get you on Skype. Hope to see on there real soon.

Until next time,
God Bless y"all

Computers

Good to be back to say hi. I've been having some issues with my computer and I am pretty sure we can have them corrected early next week.

Thank you everyone for the wonderful birthday wishes that were posted on face book. I was very touched. My honey took me, Scott (his birthday too) and our grandson Seth out for dinner. It was a very relaxing evening.

Moving ahead with New Beginnings has also been an issue but I plan on getting things back on track as soon as this last thing is taken care on on my pc. Just waiting for a little money to get the part.

Tomorrow is one busy day. We have a church meeting at 9am, then, Matt's graduation party at 2 and then Mary and Rob's 25th at approx. 5pm.

Sunday a special speaker from Africa. 10:30 at Family Worship Center in Geneseo. In the plaza with the movie theater. Can't think of the plaza name. Then a picnic at Stony Brook with family from Florida.

So I just wanted to take time to say hi.

Until next week.
God Bless Y'all.

Time Flies

I just opened this and it can't be that I haven't written since June 9. Can this be possible, I thought it was just a couple of weeks and I was pretty down on myself for going that long. Well just get movin on is the attitude I am taking.

Korana, I have just looked at your blog and can't believe I passed up that beautiful trip. The pictures are great. But I need to tell you the news that friends were able to visit your adopted son through Compassion was outstanding. Okay, I cried as I saw his pictures and how happy he was. How blessed you and Wayne were to have this experience. I don't think many people can communicate with their adopted kids after they are grown. I know we weren't able to even though we had the same boy from a little guy till he grew up and had to leave the program. They told us the only way it can be done is if we knew someone who spoke his language and then someone here who could interrupt his letters back to us. We do know he became a mechanic. He somehow managed to stay in the program till 22 and I guess that is unusual. Mpagi was from Uganda.

We finally made it to storage and I found pictures that I forgot even existed.

I spent a week house sitting for Wayne and Korana and I was so busy I was only there to sleep most of the time. One kitty, Sneakers 'AKA' Buddy decided to go out and stay gone for two and a half days. The little stinker.

I just talked to my Aunt Evelyn and she sounded real good. She and my Uncle Fred have had company and so have kept busy and I think she likes this. I hope I am as active at 92 as she is. But I'm not telling her age.

I just donated a copy of WHAT'S DONE IS DONE to a non-profit organization and they were thrilled to get it. I hope to get some feed back next time I am there.

The only new thing around here is that life keeps getting busier all the time.

Hey, Marge, I found pictures of Jeff and Judy's wedding reception. Can you believe it? Nancy and ED and Linda and her late husband plus many others. I have one of you too. I'll send it to you if you want. Just let me know. Your mom wants to know when we are coming back. I told her I'm not sure but hope before cold weather.

Got to go and get cooled off. My next goal is a scanner so I can put pictures on here.

Until next time.
God Bless Y'all.

Family

I just read Korana's post about the playground. We live by an elementary school like she said in her blog and sometimes I admit I get frustrated by the noise of kids yelling and having a good time outside during their recess. What's up with that?? I guess I am getting old. They are just normal kids having fun. So, I am trying to look at it differently. I know that Denver, Willa, and Adalyn will continue to be happy to play there for some time yet and that makes me very happy. Ellianna, Ben, and Shawn Jr. enjoy it too. I just wish they could all come more.

I have chosen to house-sit for Wayne and Korana instead of going with them to Virginia Beach for a week vacation. Now you all must think I have lost my mind. But listen this will be so good. I can visit my Aunt Audrey, the individuals that I used to work with when I first started at the Arc of Monroe, and also visit Shawn, Lesley, Shawn Jr., Ben, and Ellie. And last but not least is I am going to make it a working vacation and I will be working on the book without pressure (from myself) to do housework etc. I might even talk my honey into staying a night or two. Sound romantic? Could be!! So, all said I think it was the right decision for me this time. Maybe there will be another time to go.

Scott and I are going storage picking this week. I really want to find some things we have stored and I am sure they are in the back of our storage unit. I wouldn't think of trying this alone. I am not that crazy.

Please pray for my friend, Kathy who broke her leg a few months ago, and has needed another surgery. I haven't heard how that went. She might not be up to contacting me yet. I'll update you all when I know more.

Until next time,
God Bless Y'all (I can see the smile Shawn)

Computers

Today I have tried to get on several websites and apparently the internet is too busy to allow me access to where I want to be including Face Book. This is kind of frustrating.

The paragraph above was written yesterday. I continued it and had a lot of information in this but had to Save it and Publish Post later. When I went to do this a short time later all I had was the couple of sentences above. I was too frustrated to do it again. Here I am and my honey just pulled in and I need to get him something to eat before church.

New Beginnings is coming along nicely and I'm about to introduce a new character in the next chapter. I'm excited about this but am not sure exactly what kind of person he will be yet. Face Book is getting too busy and complicated to get on so I might not be on there often. We'll see. Sorry to cut this short.

Denver and Will are in their Dance Recital this weekend and we probably aren't going to be able to go. I will be working till 7am and not getting much rest. I'm sure Korana will be posting pictures. If you are on her blog or want to be it's called Glitter Bug. I'll have to ask her if the complete link can be reached from this one.

Until next time, and very soon I hope,
God Bless y'all

Heat

Okay, it's feeling a lot like summer. But isn't it just a little too early for this extreme heat? I am not complaining, I will take heat over the extreme cold any day but I am a little overwhelmed with yesterday and today. We are planning a weekend in Ohio and plan on leaving this Friday and back on Monday. My aunt says it's suppose to be in the 70's on Saturday and I think that would be just perfect for me. I'm looking forward to a nice visit. Going back to the heat for a minute, I just bought a second air conditioner from a neighbor who is moving. I only paid twenty-five dollars for it and it has a remote. Talk about moving into high tech. stuff.

Mary and Rob just received thirty-seven baby chicks. Actually baby pheasants. They arrived at the post office early this morning, and she got a call at eight to come pick up her "babies". They were born sometime Sunday night and shipped out from Iowa on Monday morning. We are going to see them tonight. I just talked to her and I guess they are about the size of a gold ball except the runt who is a little smaller. They have to be in a temperature controlled environment for a while. The water they drink also had to be a certain temp. at least for now. I can't wait to see them.

I need to learn how to put pictures on this. Mary put some on my-space for RD, Rose and the girls. And I also received a picture on my Verizon phone this morning of the chicks. I really want to play around with pictures.

I need to get back to my novel. It's coming slowly, and that's alright. Did I tell you all that the title is New Beginnings? I'm pretty sure I did.
So let me get to it again and also take time to fix a supper, something I don't do often enough.

Until next time,
God Bless y'all

Hi

Well, it's 11 am and I have to leave for a work meeting in a few minutes so I just wanted to say hi.

The novel is moving along but slowly and those of you who have written much know what I mean. You write then revise, then write more and sometimes decide you need to go in a different direction. What I thought was the start of the book has now been moved to partway in. I have some new ideas and need to put them in and then Mary will review this and say, "take that out or put that back here." Her insight has been my strength. One day she was telling me over the phone what she felt needed changing, and I was silently agreeing with her, but while she was talking and before I was able to speak, we lost power and that means we lose our phone too. On her end she thought I hung up on her. The power came back on quickly and I called back, she said I was walking around talking to myself saying, "I was sure we were past that part, Mom doesn't get upset when I tell her things like that anymore. What's up with that?" I had to laugh as I reassured her that I was past that. We both laughed and moved on. She is critical and I do appreciate it this time around. I've always listened but it used to discourage me but I really appreciate her more than I did before. I even look at myself more critically.

I just looked at the clock and need to get on the road and head for the city.

Please pray for my son who has a bad back issue and is seeing the doctor this morning.

I'll try to be back sooner.
Until then God Bless Y'all.

Hello

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there.

Last night was Girl's Night Out and we went to a movie and had some good laughs after. Poor Mike, we invaded his house about ten or so while he was trying to watch the Nascar race. I wonder how that worked out for him with four giggling females in the kitchen?

I sent my grandson, Seth a text early yesterday afternoon and he got it at 11:30 last night. He asked me what I was doing sending a text at that hour. I told him I wasn't.

Today we just went to church, Wegmans, stopped at Mary's to pick up groceries I left there and came home. So how did I forget groceries? Well, I was trying to get home to change into warmer clothes before going to the movies and guess we unloaded some of mine with hers. I've talked to my kids so I am pretty much a happy camper on this special day of the year. Oh ya, and all the mom's got a gift card from church for none other than Dunkin Donuts. My favorite place.

The sun is out now and I'm planning on spring returning in the morning. Enough of this snow and cold in May.

Tomorrow I finally start my PT. I can't wait. Pinched nerve go away.

Rose, did you write that you have a web cam? I can't wait to see you guys and the girls will be able to see us. Let me know as soon as you get it up and running. Sign up for Skype, it's free and I really like it. You will be able to get Shawn and Lesley on there too.

Update on Matt's college of choice; it's Ithaca. The program he is going in only allows 12 students each year. Congratulations, Matt.

Virginia, Samantha and her friend Mandy were stranded in Nashville for a day or so because of the flood but they are fine.

Scott has a beautiful 10 month old puppy, he is Pitt Bull and American something. I can't remember the last part. He is so lovable, his name is Dozzer. I'm not sure how he spells it but you get the idea. This is the second Pitt I have known and they sure get a bum rap most of the time. Sadie was the most gentle and sweet dog I have ever known. She loved kids and people too. I know Mike and Cher still miss her.

Well as usual I need to close.
Until next time.
God Bless Y'all.

New news?

Good afternoon everyone. Is there any new news? All news is new at some time. Correct?
This was just a quick title so I could get into the meat of the blog.

Now before I forget it, this is for anyone who is planning on coming to Mary and Rob's 25th anniversary picnic, the date has been changed. The new date is Saturday, August 14, 2010. Invitations will be sent out in a while. This is just a heads up for those who already had the June date on their calendar.

I have just changed the beginning of the novel. I am pleased with this and will not discard the other scene but will add it a little later on.

Yes, the name is still New Beginnings. Someone suggested "What's Done Is Done Again" but at this point I need to stick to the other one.

I am ordering more books on Monday or Tuesday. Now that we have entered into the spring and summer months, I will be going to rent a table at small town fairs and festivals.

Seth is going to be attending Mohawk Valley, a SUNY college this year. He is very excited to get in there.

Matt will be going somewhere but I didn't get word on which he chose. He was accepted at more than one. I'll get back to you on that.

RD had interview for new job the other day but I haven't heard the outcome. God will bless him with the right job I know. I wish I knew why His timing and ours aren't always the same.

Please pray for wisdom for the neurologist I'm seeing on Monday morning. The pain and numbness in my right arm and hand is getting worse not better.

Until next time,
God Bless Y'all. (you've got to be smiling 'angel boy')

Finally Back

Good evening, if I wait about five minutes I could say good morning. The thing is I can't sleep. My mind is whirling with things I want to do but either I keep forgetting to write them down or something else comes up and I don't get to them.

I sometimes just spend too much time thinking for a title for each of these blogs. I have to stop this.

I thought April was busy, and we have a few birthdays in the family during the first week of May.
I hope I don't forget anyone this year.

I am now getting sleepy which was why I put off getting on here for the last hour. Of course now I wish I had started earlier.

Our younger grandchildren have been having a hard time with viruses. Two of them were so sick that they lost a few pounds that they couldn't really afford to loose. One was in the hospital three times in about two weeks. One is in the process of cutting teeth. The ill ones are fine as of now but Adalyn is still dealing with teeth issues.

Wayne's big 40 party was a success. A couple of the above kids have just gotten over pinkeye including one mom and one dad from different families. Go figure that one. But they do work in the same place.

Quick update on book. I was having some difficulties and now I believe I need to start in a different direction then pick-up from where I started. This won't be as hard as it sounds. I will begin this process tomorrow, I hope. Name for sequel at this time (subject to change) is New Beginnings. So I plan on referring to this from now on instead of 'sequel'.

John has been on vacation this week and we planned a trip to Ohio to visit my aunt, uncle, and cousins but due to car issues, now resolved, and a neck problem I am seeing a neurologist for next Monday we decided to reschedule the trip until Memorial Day weekend.

Good night dear family and friends.
God Bless

Finally

I was finally able to get in here again. I just wanted to check in and tell you that the novel is coming along pretty good. Some days I don't get to it because life happens and other things get put on hold. But when you think about it life is the priority isn't it.

Friday night Korana is giving Wayne a big 40 party. Wow, I wish I had been able to have one. Not really, just kidding.

I am looking forward to celebrating our 50 years together. You know one man, one woman. I've been telling my family for about 8-10 years now about the party I want, but that would take a lot of money, so maybe we'll have a picnic instead. Guess that would work. Marriage is a wonderful thing if you find the right person. I did. Now I am patiently waiting for next summer, 2011.

Gotta go someone is here.

Bye for now and God Bless.

Another Day

Good evening everyone. I need to do this in the morning when my brain is functioning. Well, I don't know what to write except to tell you I'm pretty sure about the title.

Do you remember, Judy the lady that lived downstairs from Beth when she was with Barry? You are going to get to know her a little better and you will also get to know her sister, Meg. You will meet Will who is going to be a major person in the sequel. Come and find out what is going on with Courtney's seizures. Mae and Neil will have life changing issues in their lives also. Beth has a real life changing surprise too. And no, she is not pregnant. I know some of you have voted for Chad and Beth to have a baby boy. There is no plan for this so far. Please remember I am not writing this, I am just the channel the Lord is using.

April and May are full of birthdays for the Kelly family. I can hardly remember mine. We forgot our anniversary again this year. I don't think my honey remembers that he even forgot. Not yet. I really don't care. I still have him and that's what is important to me.
Enjoy the people you love, we really aren't guaranteed tomorrow.

This Saturday we are celebrating Ben and Shawn Jr.'s birthdays. Wayne's big 40 is the same day and Shawn Jr.'s birthday. The following week is Shawn Sr's. I don't promise to remember to mention everyone's. This is one of my famous disclaimers.

Wow, Wayne you are getting up there!!!

Until next time,
God Bless ya'll (I can see that smile Shawn)

Sunshine, Sunshine

Sunshine is so nice. Blue sky is beautiful and warm temperature is the best.
I think I have a name for the sequel, and I think it is the one I thought I had a while ago in the middle of the night and then couldn't remember what it was. I will tell y'all when I am sure about it. But I am excited that I finally might have the one I'm suppose to have. (I think).

We were invited to go to Niagara Falls today but John had to work. So, I'm taking a friend and go workout instead. I think the exercise will stimulate my brain cells and because John is going to church to set up for the egg hunt, I might get inspired to work more on the sequel tonight.

Today is our granddaughter, Willa Joy's birthday. She is five. Where do the years go? Our youngest grandchild just turned one a few weeks ago. But wait, out oldest grandchild will turn 29, yes twenty-nine this August. Isn't that great. We think so.

Sorry, I have to go and pick up my friend now. The book is coming together but it is a time consuming job. I love it.

Until next time.
May God Bless y'all.

Hello

Hi everyone,

There are times when I don't know where to begin here and times when I know exactly what I want to write. Today is one of those I'm not sure days. Between trying to do healthy things like eat better foods, and get enough rest, I have been working on the sequel. I thought I had a title but I don't. Well let's say that because I can't seem to remember what it was so I don't think it will work at this time.

Yesterday was beautiful, sun shinning. The feel of it warming my body as I sat outside basking in the bright light of it all, almost took my breath away. This all came about with a phone call from John, saying if you haven't been out put on a coat, take the blue canvas chair and go outside for a while.
So needless to say, being the obedient little wife that I am, that's just what I did. I'm so glad I listened to him. Now I'm looking forward to more of this warm, sunny stuff. Very soon. This has been one of the longest winters that I can remember. Don't know why.

Last Friday evening we went to Livonia High School for Gilbert and Sullivan's 'The Pirates of Penzance. Our grandson, Matt is a senior this year and has been in their musicals for a few years now. He had a part in "Miss Saigon". He was Uncle Henry in "The Wiz"and the Bishop in "Les Miserables". Now in the "The Pirates of Penzance" he played Major General Stanley. He was wonderful. He has a great singing voice and being a comedy the whole thing was so funny. I don't mean his singing just the whole show.I think the cast had as much fun as the audience. Matt was so thankful for the endless rides he received from his parents and the patience of his wonderful sister, Ketura for the hours she spent listening to him practice the songs. (the bedroom walls are thin, she said)

Well, thanks for listening. I need to get to the daily sequel time.

Until next time,
God Bless Y'all

Gone Missing again?

It does seem like it, doesn't it. Well after I told you about the leg problem it went to my arm and other leg. The difference is I don't have the extreme pain but numbness and pain in hand and arm is almost constant. I'm going to a chiropractor. I have never been to one before. I have been to him twice now. The first time he took a neck x-ray and scans of my back. Also had a lower back x-ray from last year faxed to him. Now it seems it's very possible I have a pinched nerve.

Now, Shawn told me this before I saw the chiropractor yesterday, so I guess I owe Shawn some money for his diagnosis because it looks like he was right.

Hang on Shawn, I'm broke for the time being. Just put it on my tab for computer issues I owe you and Wayne for.

And by the way, the sequel is finally moving ahead. I am so excited. I think you will all love this as well as the original. I am going to have to start using my Dragon 10 because of my hand pain but that's fine. I just have to re-train it to my voice.

Adalyn May Kelly is being dedicated tomorrow at the 11:15 service in North Chili. Then we are having a first birthday party at Wayne and Korana's for her. It's an exciting time for me to get together with our family. I don't get to see them enough.

Sorry to end this but my honey is taking me out for dinner and then to the gym to exercise. We don't get enough fun, quality time together so I'm outta here.

Until next time.
God Bless Y'all

P.S. Welcome to my new follower. I think I'll give all followers a discount on the sequel.

Missing

What is going on? Where have I been? Writing, working and oh, I spent part of yesterday in the emergency room. I'M FINE.

I woke with a pain radiating down my left leg and thought I would scream. In the end they think it was some kind of spasm. But when I called my doctor at 8 am they said go to a hospital to get a blood clot ruled out. They said the symptoms were too suspicious. So my wonderful son, Bob left work to come get me and we went to Thompson Hospital.

After an ultra sound to rule out a clot, he(the doctor) said it probably was something pushing on nerves or even a pre-curser to a bulging disk. So I was able to come back home in record time. I had to get some meds for pain and inflammation he said. If you know me well, you will know that I don't do well with medication. I get reactions. Nothing huge but I always think and research before I take anything new.

Well, I won't spend anymore time whining. Today is a new day and my leg is okay for the most part. Looking for healthy options for all my health issues.

I planned to write on the sequel today but just have not done it yet. Maybe later, I hope.

Gotta go for now,
God Bless Y'all.

Snow, snow and more snow

I think I hate cold and snow. Okay I really dislike cold but the snow was so beautiful this time. In our little village of Lima, we didn't get as much snow as other places. But on Sunday when John put up the bedroom shade he said, "You're going to love the view, it's that pretty snow that clings to the trees and just about everything it lands on." He was so right.

On the drive to church we could see how the trees were totally blanketed in white. One place on the expressway just before the Geneseo exit, there are trees on both sides of the road and the scene was breathtaking. Today at Mary's house in Conesus I saw the same beautiful thing. White covered everything. And because it is warmer today some of the snow is melting in Lima but I can't say I'm sorry, because for me I don't enjoy the extreme cold.

I know I haven't written in a few days but I've been busy. My priorities have to be the sequel. I am enjoying this process so much. It's the editing, and re-doing to make it a better story that is long and harder for me. The first draft, where I just write my heart out is really fun.

I know you will enjoy the sequel more if you have read WHAT'S DONE IS DONE first, but I have accidentally read a sequel in reverse and still enjoyed it. It was one of Karen Kingsbury's series and in my opinion you can't get much better than her books. I am feasting on them. Speaking of Karen, her husband is having surgery on March 3rd (I'm pretty sure that is the date) so keep him in prayer, please.

Until next time,
God Bless Y'all.

Thursday

It's Thursday evening about seven-ish and I've been out all day. Now I'm very happy to be home in our nice warm apartment. I spent most of the afternoon doing some research for the novel. I'm getting excited about what is coming next which I am not telling y'all because I don't want to give too much away about the story. I plan on doing more research than I did for WHAT'S DONE IS DONE. I didn't realize how much this would help me.

I got a webcam (Logitec) for Christmas and have not used it. If you have one and want to talk and see me (big deal) just open yours and invite me. I know Virginia has one but I don't think it's hooked up yet.

Lea, check them out. Maybe we wouldn't feel like we were 3,000 miles from each other. Wal-Mart has them. Not expensive either.

I would chat more but haven't spent much time with my hubby, so I'm going to move to the living room for awhile.

Shawn, does your webcam fit on the computer you someday might have upstairs? I need to visit with Lesley and the kids.

Goodnight dear family and friends.

God Bless y'all.

Work

Hello everyone, today this will be very short. I just wanted you all to know that I would like to write everyday even if I start by being completely ignorant of what I'm going to write.

Well today I plan on spending time on the book and taking notes for a future chapter that is in my head. I also am working a few hours late this afternoon into this evening at the ARC.

It's about noon I've just finished some housework. Can you believe it? I have complained forever about not feeling like or finding time for this chore and today I really did accomplish something.

Sorry for the small talk but I need to finish the chapter I'm working on and do notes for the one I mentioned above.

Until tomorrow,
God Bless Y'all

Today

It's Tuesday and I just noticed the date of my last post. The days seem to fly by some of the time. Others just crawl past. I find it frustrating to try to write when I've had an issue with my computer but today my grandson, Aaron looked at it and said he thinks I need to replace a piece of cable. So if that is my only problem I can be a happy camper again just with a quick trip to Wal-Mart. I will probably put this off because it's working fine now. But the next time it gets upset with me, or me with it, I will make the trip.

My friend, Kathy has broken her leg and could use prayer for a complete healing. She is a sweet lady and has one beautiful daughter.

This is a small hint about the sequel: Courtney continues to have health issues with her seizures, Neil and Mae have some major changes in their lives, Beth has developed a compassion for abused women, Dora is trying to get Leah to say she doesn't want to visit for the summer. Her only problem is, Leah does want to come. Three new people will be introduced into the story.
Want their names? That wouldn't be fair. What would you do for surprises? Read the book!

Now if I miss some days here, I'm either out doing the errands that life seems to throw at us or probably working on the continuation of 'the book'. Still no title but thanks to a sleepless night I asked God to give me a name like he did for WHAT'S DONE IS DONE. Now I have a couple of possibilities rolling around in my head.

Praise the Lord for no sleep. I really am blessed because I don't have to get up mornings for work.

Until next time,
God Bless y'all (I can see you smile, Shawn)

Another Cold Day

Good-evening everyone, I thought I would write a little before I close down for the night. I have spent most of the afternoon trying to get the sequel to flow to my satisfaction. I have been studying the different styles of novel writing. One man said he goes back after every chapter and edits and works it until he is satisfied with the chapter. I tried that and I don't think it's going to work for me. I might get to chapter five and realize I need to change something in chapter two. If I have spent hours just trying to make it a great chapter, and now decide I want to change something I have really wasted a lot of time. I guess I'm going to just do the same as I did with WHAT'S DONE IS DONE. Write the story and then go back over it. Edit and fix and do any changes I need then.

Nice, I have just made a decision. Being a woman I can always change my mind later. Right!!

Until later,
God Bless

Winter

I won't even begin to tell you how much I dislike cold weather. I think seasons are something you ether love or hate. I don't remember ever liking winter. I do remember sledding and ice skating. My feet would get so cold when I went ice skating but I had a good time until then.

I have always loved hot summers until three years ago. Hot was definitely too hot and our humidity added to it was almost unbearable. Who wants to spend more days inside? I've just had months of indoor life and I want fresh air. I'm just trying to tell you that I'm fed up with this cold. I'm fed up with being cooped up inside and if I go out I freeze. I can't win. I just read on Korana's blog that she is usually okay until March but this year she is suffocating with cabin fever in February. "I have to agree Kor, this year seems to be crawling at a snails pace."

Now I need to say that realistically I should be using this time to write the sequel, and I am, but some days I am too frustrated to do much of anything.

The story line of the sequel is coming along but I have changed the beginning twice and now I believe it needs to be tweeked again. So, coming from an untrained writer this is probably good that I am learning. What am I learning? Well for one thing listen more and talk less. Reaseach to make sure things I write aren't just floating in my head. Example would be something like saying that South Carolina usually gets tons of snow in the winter and everyone is so use to this, they never have to have a snow day or close anything because of a blizzard.
Blizzard? They probably don't even know the meaning of the word. Now, if I am writing about Montana...I think you get the idea. So speaking of these things I need to get to writing before I decide dishes need to be washed and junk like that.
Looking for spring.

Until next time.

God Bless y'all. (smile Shawn)

Very Good

Hi,
I'm finally better. Can you believe feeling bad since first week of December? Wow, I wondered if I would ever feel like myself again. Now it has happened and I'm so blessed to have family and friends who worried and prayed for me for all that time. Thank you and praise God. I want to write and write but I need to do a little housework also. I have a little glitch with my computer but it will be straightened out very soon. Shawn is checking it out and will call as soon as he tell me what to do. I just emailed him my problem. Literally sent it to his computer.

Still looking for a name for the sequel. I thought as soon as I started writing the name would come to me but it hasn't. I'm guessing that it is such a simple name that I can't see or hear it. Suggestions would still be considered. So go ahead and throw one out there for me. Send to my mail, kellysevens@aol.com.

Sarah, I just read your comment on the book. Thank you, I am freshly inspired and excited to move ahead with the sequel.

Gotta go, hubby cooking supper. I am so blessed to have a man like him. "Thank you Lord."

Until next time.
God Bless ya'll

WISH

Hi, I wish they had a little spot for a quick message. I would write, "hey don't give up on me, I'll be back. It's just that after 7-8 days of head cold I went right into a sore throat and swollen glands."
I'm not whining just feel awful and want to tell my readers why I'm skipping days when I said I would try to write every day or so. I just want to feel good again. So even though my doctor is not in on Monday's I will try to see her on Tuesday by getting an appointment made on Monday. Unless of course I am perfectly fine before then. I could be.

Sorry, I'm done.

God bless ya'll.

ANOTHER DAY

Good evening everyone. Anyone want to purchase a bubble gum/candy machine? Korana is selling a couple. Like her mother-in-law she doesn't like to market herself. She also sells Lia Sofia jewelry and I love it. Want a party or just see some jewelry, contact her on Face Book or read her blog called Glitter Bug. You can get to it from her Face Book.

Anyway, now as for me I still have WHAT'S DONE IS DONE for $10.00 thru Valentines Day. 585-582-2702. Today I've been working on the sequel. If you write, you understand how long it takes to write and re-write and correct and then go back and remove stuff and keep going. Long story is it's very time consuming. But, oh what fun it can be. Especially when the characters come to life in front of you. I need to get a couple of books in the mail for customers tomorrow and try to see Mary in the next couple of days so she can take apart my first few chapters and ask me how I can make them better. She has a talent for this part of the work. I depend on her for this and I also take criticism very well from her. All writers have to have that. I wish it wasn't necessary but it is.

I had some books in the book store on the Elim campus. It was an Alpha and Omega store but they just closed up in December. Not enough business the manager told me. It's too bad, they have always had a book store of some kind up there as long as I can rememger.

Well I need to get going, tonight is church for us and we plan to venture out, dress warm and hope not to come with anyone else's germs.

Until next time.
God Bless y'all.

Just yesterday

Believe it or not I started to feel better yesterday but John is still sick. We both came down with a bad head cold at the same time. Headache stuffy nose, sneezing, coughing and generally feeling awful. John worked everyday and by Friday was a very sick camper. But I just stayed in bed and tuffed it out and watched television. Good news is, I think we are heading in the right direction. At least I hope. I'm so glad tomorrow is a day off for him. I may end up taking him to see his doctor except I think he feels a little better this afternoon. I know he has pulled chest muscles coughing.

Now, on a lighter and happier note, I have more ideas for the sequel. I was relaxing on my bath pillow in the tub last night as ideas kept flowing into my head. I believe this is when God has me pinned down so to speak and I just listen. The warm water flows all around me and I am totally quiet. The good part is I know where to go next and the bad part is, if all this is for the sequel it would be too scattered to make much sense. So now I believe I have material for a couple more books which could make this a series. I'm not sure yet. Maybe just individual books? Time will tell.

I'm about done for today. If any of you are on Face Book and a 'friend' of Korana Kelly's I urge you to go to her wall. It should be titled "Kids sing the funniest things." Don't take offense she is only four. Almost five?

Thanks for your patience, hope to write tomorrow.

Until then.
God Bless Y'all (your welcome, Shawn Sr. love, Mom)
